Dear Sufia,
Now tell me, where on earth did time fly? I remember like it was just yesterday when I gave birth to this 3.6kg chubby baby girl, time passed and you’re approaching 11 months now? I can’t hardly keep up, every day you discover something new, it’s beyond me. Milestones you ask? Well, for starters, still no teeth and still can’t walk but not to worry – you’re taking your own sweet time, why the rush? And the babbling, my God your babbling! It has to be one of many things I look forward to every day. Your recent favorite word has got to be ‘Dah?’ – yes, with a question mark. You see me rubbing my hands off after I’m done with a few chores and you’ll go, ‘Dah?’. Ye, ibu dah habis kemas, jom sambung main blocks.
You crawl so fast now that it’s impossible to look away, not even a second (although, I may have done it once or twice – you bolted, trying to swing open the front door). I can tell you’re just down right bored and preferred to have a quick chat with the cats outside of our house. You love those furballs.
You dance and sing now. Clapping your hands to any song you hear – even the ones chiming from the wall clock. That’s partially my fault. I’ve been excessively gluing you to the cartoon channel just so I can get my chores done. It doesn’t work most of the time, you’ll resort to screaming once you realize that I was gone (or the cartoon show just got boring). The house is still looking like a big pile of mess, though.
I can’t wait for you to turn one and to many years to come! – and your smile! No, we can never get enough of it. Thank you, baby girl.
Sayang,
Ibu.
